I have been a tattoo artist since 2013, and consider myself a traditionally apprenticed tattoo artist, but completely self taught artist. I would classify my artistic style as folk art, and tattooing as neotraditional, however I prefer not to pigeonhole myself, or any artist for that matter, enjoying discovering new ways to feel inspired to create.
I actively persue ways to improve myself on a personal level, and as an artist, and do not think I will ever be content with where I am. There is always something new to learn, discover or invent, but my entire life revolves around the natural world and I find myself leaning more into the wheel of the year and my ancestral roots than ever before. I think so many of us are missing a sense of connection, and I think that connection is with the earth and nature itself.
Being able to use my art, and tattoos, to help people reconnect with their ancestral past through the telling of British and European folklore, herbalism and botany and our incredibly rich landscape gives me a way of sharing my love for these islands I call home, and the beauty they hold from way before any of modern history.
I consider myself to sit somewhere within the druidic and pagan paths, I don’t really feel any need to label or call myself anything other than quite simply, me.
I now co-own a comfortable and welcoming studio, with the ability to provide a more private quiet space within a more busy, and bustling tattoo studio. My clients enjoy the more one to one feel of our sessions, and the more community vibe at break times. We have a studio garden, with active wildlife, and we have won multiple awards for being ‘in bloom’.
This type of environment works well for me, as a self confessed introverted extrovert, and as both (late diagnosed) Autistic and ADHD, I have changed the way I work a lot over the last year or two, as I find the authentic way I wish to live my life without the constant pressure of modern expectations and pressures.
