A little bit about who I am, and my vision
Having to write anything like this about myself is incredibly daunting, and definitely doesn’t help with my desire to live a very private and simple life.
That said, I realise more than ever that it’s vitally important that people know who they are entrusting with their time, their bodies, and the very raw versions of themselves that I inevitably end up seeing.
Tattooing is a primal activity. I believe that the need to be tattooed comes from a place within ourselves that we are all very much unaware of in this extremely high stress, low nature lifestyle most of us lead.
The subject of the tattoo, is unimportant. The urge to mark, and be marked, goes back to the dawn of our age. It transcends all modern society and culture and connects us all in a way that nothing else does.
I am passionate about helping people grow, and truly understand themselves via self exploration and learning. Being tattooed is a huge way to explore your identity, and further your human connection in a meaningful way. This kind of tattooing is special, and it's meaning has been lost over the last decade or more.
The way to rekindle that connection with self, and with the community is with a return to the best of the old ways, with none of the garbage we are so glad to see end. It’s time to foster relationships, collaboration, artistic exploration, personal growth and shared experiences.
I am so in love with the part of tattooing I loved even before I tattooed people:
The connection. To the past, to the present, and the future.
Tattoos are a way to bridge gaps, generations, cultures, as art always has been. It's the ultimate folk art, and I’m beyond honoured to be able to do this as part of my career.
My other interests
I have been on an artistic path for the last year, working with numerous mentors to help me to further understand what I have to say as an artist. Developing my illustrator skills, anatomical drawing, painting techniques and understanding how to truly push myself forward.
As an additional part of this, my other truly lifelong special interest is wildlife, native gardening and the natural world around me. I am studying botany as a personal project, along with my artistic studies.
I see a therapist regularly, and I’m a medical cannabis patient (legal in the UK since 2018) alongside my mobility work, yoga and vegan lifestyle, to enable me to show up as my best possible self for my clients, and coworkers.
